You’ll be living either with other volunteers on-site or with a local family depending on the location of your community placement. AFS also organises activities including trips to striking cultural and historical sites.

Although English and the Ghanaian language Twi are the official languages, there are more than 52 native tongues and hundreds of dialects.

While attending school you’ll also have the chance to learn about local crafts such as pottery, woodcarving, silverwork, traditional drumming and dancing. GHIG will also organise trips to various historical and cultural sites.
